Chinese Herbs

Chinese Herbs are often used in conjunction with Acupuncture for added therapeutic effect. Herbal formulas can also be used as the sole form of treatment for those who can't or don't wish to undergo Acupuncture therapy.

Most of the world's cultures have their own Herbal Medicine folk traditions, reaching back thousands of years. One of the first ways ancient humans learned to heal themselves from injuries and illnesses was through consuming and experiencing the medicinal and life-nourishing benefits of a vast number of edible native plants. Healing with medicinal plants is as old as eating fruits and vegetables for dietary sustenance!

The sophistication of Traditional Chinese Medicine in particular is unsurpassed, as an ancient yet continually evolving knowledge base.
Chinese herbs have been extensively studied, and the effectiveness of many of these herbs and traditional formulas are now supported by clinical research and pharmacology.

Traditional Chinese Herbalism today is used to treat everything from the common cold, to sprains and injuries, to stress and hormonal imbalances, to symptoms associated with cancer treatment.
Chinese Herbal formulas may be safely used for the benefit of almost any condition, as long as prescribed by a professionally trained Oriental Medicine Practitioner or Herbalist, using safe and appropriate treatment principles.

Chinese Herbal therapy generally involves several different herbs combined in a formula that has been tailored to (or chosen for) your condition. Traditional formulas are available as pre-made encapsulated herbal formula extracts, or as "Tea pills", or as raw herbs.
Chinese herbs can be extremely effective, and rarely have side effects if properly prescribed. Please note, however, it is very important to tell me about all medications and supplements you are currently taking so that we can avoid any unwanted interactions with your formula.

Together we can tailor a course of treatment
to meet your unique health needs.
